Where other people see black, white, brown, etc., people, I see human beings. I see people that are the sum of their life experiences, people that want the best for and care about their families. I see veterans, first responders, community leaders, politicians, business leaders, everyday citizens who want the world to be a better place. I see compassion, love, the willingness to share. to give a hand, etc.. And yes, I see hate, deceit, hubris, arrogance , violence and the like. What I don't see is color. I am color blind when it comes to skin color. I am not blind to the perceptions about skin color brought on by adherence to superficiality, prejudice, ignorance, lack of education, self serving talking points and just plain stupidity. As the saying goes " Don't judge a book by its cover". Substance is what matters not appearance.
